Dentists

 
Ms Cathy McClelland BDS MSc
 
Cathy qualified from Queen's University of Belfast in 1998. She has worked in general practice in Oxfordshire for over 10 years since then. She took over the running of Cherrytree Dental Care in 2005 with her husband, Robert Hughes, also a dentist based in nearby Eynsham. Following 5 years of intensive postgraduate study, in 2010 Cathy was awarded a distinction in an MSc in Advanced General Dental practice through the University of Birmingham. This Masters degree provides Cathy with advanced, certified training in all aspects of dentistry including periodontology (gum disease), endontology (root canal treatment), restorative dentistry (crown and bridgework, treatment of worn teeth and provision of dentures), aesthetic dentistry, implant treatment planning. Thus Cathy has a wide knowledge base and experience to enable her to best help patients with any problem in general dental practice whether simple or advanced. In addition she has attended lectures and clinical coaching courses on cosmetic dentistry and the restoration of implants & has published research on sports-guards. Cathy is deeply committed to the provision of high quality patient care, encompassing not only exemplary treatment standards but personal attention to ensure every patient feels truly looked after. She has recently had 2 sons, Willem, was born in 2009 and Matthew in December 2010.
Dr Jens Wille Dr Med Dent
 
Jens qualified from the University of Regensburg, one of Germany’s top dental schools in 2005. He commenced practicing in the U.K. shortly thereafter by joining a four surgery dental practice in Oxford. He continued research at the University of Regensburg (Germany) and successfully completed his doctorate dental studies degree achieving a magna cum laude in 2007. He has since completed a range of advanced dental postgraduate studies including Dental Implant Training in Association with Warwick University , Training in Management of Facial Pain and Headaches at Harvard Medical School, Boston USA, aesthetic dentistry courses, postgraduate course in Evidence Based Dentistry at University of Oxford, with an aim to provide dentistry to a very high standard. He is particularly interested in helping nervous patients to regain and keep a healthy and beautiful smile, and has achieved his Diploma in Dental Hypnosis at University College London in Association with Eastman Dental Institute. He joined our practice in January 2009 and continues to work in a private dental practice in Eynsham, Oxfordshire. Currently Jens is studying part time at Warwick University for his Master dental degree (M.Sc.) in Orthodontics.
Mrs Pia Burton BDS

Pia qualified from Guy's Hospital in 1977. Apart from 2 short maternity breaks she has worked continuously in General Practice making her our most experienced dentist. She joined the team in 1990 and is a well known face at our Practice. She particularly enjoys treating families, watching the children grow up and in turn bringing their own families for dental care. Pia undertakes a wide range of continuing professional development courses to ensure she stays up to date with the current best treatment practices. Most recently she has under taken a course on sleep disorders and is trained to provide sleepwell appliances to alleviate snoring.

Mrs Joanna Reece BDS

Joanna completed her dental training at Guy’s and St Thomas’s Hospital in London in 1997, qualifying with distinction and many awards.

Since qualifying, she has worked at dental clinics in the UK, Spain and Australia where she developed her skills as a general dental practitioner. She prides herself on her gentle care of nervous patients and children. While in Australia she taught as a clinical demonstrator at the La Trobe Dental School. Joanna assiduously attends lectures and courses in all aspects of dentistry to ensure she keeps abreast of new advances, she has a particular interest in endodontics. Joanna is a certified provided of Inman aligners. These are removal and fast acting orthodontic appliances which give straighter teeth in as little as 6-16weeks.

Joanna speaks Spanish, loves reading and tries her hand at oil painting. She keeps fit by cycling, jogging and walking her Westie, Jock. She has recently settled in Oxfordshire with her husband.

Ms Fiona Murphy BDS

Fiona qualified in Birmingham University in 1991 and moved to Oxford to complete her post-qualifying training. She is an established, valued member of the team, having joined the practice in 1998. She enjoys being able to provide continuity of care for her many long-standing patients. She has earned a reputation in the community for her gentle touch and caring manner. Fiona works part-time (on Tuesdays and Thursdays) to allow her to bring up her two young children, and relishes her days at work!

Mrs Fran Loubser

With the merger of Grove Green Dental Practice and Cherrytree Dental Care, Fran joins our team.She will continue to be a familiar and trusted face for the patients in Grove. Fran qualified at Wits Dental School in Johannesburg in 1988 and besides a maternity break has been in general dental practice in South Africa and in the UK since then. She came to the UK in 1997 with her husband and daughter. She has been at Grove Green Dental Practice since February 2001. She enjoys treating families and likes treating patients in a relaxed, happy environment. Her continuing professional development courses have been on a wide range of subjects, and most recently she has done courses on management of gum disease, botox, fillers and chemical peels. Her interests outside dentistry mainly involve keeping fit, now that her daughter is away at university!

Hygienist: Fiona Stovold

Fiona is a very familiar face in our practice having worked here for many years, and being very active in the local community. She is highly experienced in providing personal oral hygiene advice, treatment of gum disease and scaling and polishing.

Therapist: Alanna Bridgman

Alanna joined the practice in 2012. She has worked in dentistry since 2003, first as a dental nurse in Witney and more recently, pursuing a diploma in dental hygiene and therapy at Kings College London from where she graduated. As a therapist, Alanna is trained to provide oral hygiene advice and treatment of gum disease, scaling and polishing, fillings for adults and children and extraction of deciduous (baby) teeth. She is passionate about providing her patients with the most up to date approach to oral care.

Practice Manager

Wendy joined us in July 2011 from Grove Green Dental Practice and continues her managerial and reception duties for the expanding team at Cherrytree Dental Care. Wendy has been in the dental industry for more than 10 years, first as a receptionist and then as a practice manager since 2003. Her duties include the day-to-day running of the practice. Her greatest enjoyment comes from interacting with the patients, to try to ensure that they receive a friendly and relaxed visit. She is friendly and approachable and will happily respond to any questions or concerns patients may have. She is available at the practice on Wednesdays 7.30-3pm, Thursdays and Fridays 9-5pm. Outside of work her main hobby is cake making and decorating.

Our Invaluable Support Team

Dental Nurses: Our nurses are all very caring, experienced and registered with the General Dental Council. You are looked after by Julie Drummond (head nurse), Trisha Richardson , Caroline Stead, and Michelle Tomkins. Eunice is returning to our team in July and we also welcome Laura and Faye to the team.

Reception Team: Greta Bell and Lynne Hope are our primary receptionists but you may also see the familiar faces of our nursing team on reception.
